Hello,
Happy to see the
warmer weather now and the community looking so great; green grass, flowers
blooming, and trees with their leaves. It seemed like it would never come.
This summer please be
mindful of some of the changes you are seeing in the community. Fiber Optic
cables are being installed in our front lawns or our back alleys (the location
depends on where the utilities enter your home). As a community member it may
be a bit upsetting seeing our front lawns being dug up but this small area
belongs to the city and there is nothing we can do about it. Please be kind to
the workers, it is their job to do the installation. If you would like to
discuss this matter with the city, please call 3-1-1 or email our counsellor
calgary.ca/ward14.
May has been such a
busy month at the community association we would like to thank our volunteers
for their hard work with our Casino (May 25 and 26) and our Community Cleanup
(May 30). Your time is greatly appreciated. If you would like to volunteer for
any of our activities, please email [email protected] or come in
and speak with Linda Brown.
We are all aware that
summer is a time to water our plants, trees and grass. Have you ever looked at
the City’s YardSmart pages. They provide a wealth of information – like
investing in a rain barrel. There are rebates offered each year, there is a
finite amount of money to be distributed but take a look and see when it
becomes active for next year. It may be worth your time to take a look at the
program.
A recap from our AGM
that took place in April. We were unable to secure a president this year; we
now have our Vice President Anita looking after the community as acting
president. Eva is now our Treasurer and also our secretary. We would like to
welcome our new Digital Media director Stephanie. (Stephanie has just moved
into the community.) Julie J and Char were both voted in as Director at Large.
Kevin has returned as our membership director. Another vacant position is Second
Vice. Once the AGM was over we all had fun playing darts and socializing, thank
you to all who attended this event.
