Farm Stand Fridays Are Back!
In partnership with Calgary Eats, Shirley’s
Greenhouses from Didsbury, AB, and all of their wonderful locally grown produce
will be in the neighbourhood Fridays 2:00 to 6:00 pm in the park in Patterson
(on Patterson Boulevard SW). They specialize in cucumbers, peppers, leafy
greens and herbs, beans, tomatoes, and an assortment of canned goods like
homemade dill pickles. As the summer progresses, produce offerings expand as
they operate a large outdoor market garden.
Skip the Depot
Do you have empty bottles taking up space
in your home? Want an easy way to give back to your community? We’ll take your
bottles and we’ll even pick them up! We’ve partnered with Skip the Depot so all
you have to do is visit their website https://skipthedepot.com, sign up for an
account and schedule a pickup (Usually Mondays in Coach Hill and Patterson
Heights!). Funds will be used for community events (such as Movie in the Park)
and also the Outdoor Activity Hub.
There seems to be significantly more gravel
on the streets this year than normal, so thankfully the City’s Street Sweeping
Program to remove debris and leftover materials from winter is underway. Coach
Hill is scheduled for June 15 while Patterson is June 19. Watch for signs and
make sure you move your vehicle to avoid fines and allow for the most efficient
clean up.
Rain Barrel Rebate
With water management and restrictions on
the horizon, this is a great time to participate in the City’s Rain Barrel
program where they give a flat $50 rebate on rain barrel purchases. Check out
