Message from the Board

Dear Neighbours,

Spring is finally settling in, and you can
really feel it the birds are singing a little earlier each day, gardens are
slowly waking up, and the evenings are getting brighter and longer. It’s such a
refreshing time of year, and it feels like the perfect moment for all of us to
reconnect and enjoy our community again.

This month’s newsletter has a few important
updates, some upcoming events, and helpful reminders to keep our neighbourhood
safe and feeling like home.

April always brings that gentle sense of a
new beginning. Many of us are back outside working in our gardens, opening the
windows to let the fresh air in, or giving our homes a well‑deserved spring
refresh. It’s been wonderful to see more friendly faces out on walks,
neighbours waving from driveways, and quick chats happening over fences as
people share gardening tips. These small moments truly bring our community to
life.

Over the past few months, CPS has reported
an increase in suspicious activity in several Southwest communities, including
our things like car prowling and residential break‑ins. Taking a few simple
steps each night can go a long way in keeping all of us safe. A quick “9 pm
Routine” can make a real difference:

·
Make sure all exterior doors
and windows are locked, and your alarm is set.

·
Close and secure garage doors
and lock the door between your garage and home.

·
Lock all vehicles, even if
they’re inside the garage.

·
Remove valuables from vehicles,
including garage door openers.

·
Turn on exterior lights or
check that motion lights are working properly.

·
Ensure your security systems or
cameras are functioning.

·
If you’ll be away for a while,
arrange for someone to help with snow, bins, or general upkeep.

We also have a few community events coming
up, and we’d really love to see you there. They’re great chances to get
outside, connect with neighbours, and be a part of what makes our area special:

·
Parade of Garage Sales – May 9

·
Recycle Day – May 23

·
Annual General Meeting (AGM) –
May 20

April is such a hopeful month full of
regrowth, fresh air, and new energy both outdoors and within our community.
With warmer days and more activity around the neighbourhood, it’s a wonderful
time to reach out, say hello, and enjoy everything the season brings.

Wishing everyone a bright, beautiful, and
sunny month ahead!
