Hello Woodcreek!
We hope you’ve had
a chance to check out our new website, woodcreekcommunity.ca. We’re really proud
of the work done by the staff, volunteers, and Alek, our SAIT student. Our hope
is that the website becomes a regular reference point for community news and events.
One of the new features focuses on Neighbour Day and getting to know your neighbour,
and we’re encouraging residents to host a BBQ or casual get‑together with their
neighbours sometime in June. We’ll also be hosting the Woodcreek on Wheels event
on June 20, along with a community BBQ, with more details to come.
May is a busy month
in Woodcreek. Our Board Meeting takes place on May 5 at 7:15 pm. On May 8 we’re
hosting a Paint and Sip Night from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, with registration required by
May 1. On May 9 we have our annual Community Cleanup from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. This
year we’ll again have three City garbage trucks, along with recycling for paint,
tires, metals, e‑waste, and paper shredding. This is one of our largest events of
the year, so please come early as lineups can extend down the street and around
the corner, and make sure your membership is up to date.
Also on May 9, Graham
will be organizing an alley, pathway, and green space tidy‑up. If you’d like to
be involved, please contact him at [email protected]. Our Book Club meets
on May 27 at 7:00 pm, and we ask that you register in advance, so we know how many
chairs to set out. We’re also excited to bring back our Sock Hop, taking place on
May 30 from 7:00 pm until midnight. Registration for this event is required by May
28 through our new website.
The Good Food Box order
deadline is May 4 for a May 18 pickup, and June 1 for the June 10 pickup. We’re
looking forward to seeing you at these events and around the community this spring.
