O Newfoundland

In Newfoundland we took a walk

Among the streets of Port Aux Basques

We started at the boating dock

To reach the lighthouse was our task

A sunken graveyard on the way

A whitewashed church upon a hill

A warm and sunny August day

With precious little time to kill

On Island top beside the sea

A lighthouse standing tall to greet

We climbed the rocks just you and me

While waves were crashing at our feet

But time was short, we could not stay

So back to ferry we did run

We’ll come explore another day

O Newfoundland, we’re far from done
