organization of families and neighbours committed to helping others.

Whoohoo! Our small but mighty team of
volunteers assembled 117 Birthday Bags for the Calgary Food Bank in April. The Hey
Buddie organization helped to deliver them to the Calgary Food Bank. Thank you
to everyone that donated items, organized, and helped assemble. Thank you to
our MLA office for the donation of the 100 cake mix boxes and 100 icing tubs.
We are proud to be supporting Basically
Babies once again this year. During the month of May, you can drop off
donations of clean, good quality, gently used or new baby clothing (Sized 0 to 24
months) and small baby supplies or items. This Calgary charity helps families
with newborns in extreme need. They provide these families with a beautiful
first-year layette. Donations can be dropped off at Park96 and the red bin at
599 Parkridge Drive.
On Tuesday, May 12, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm we
invite you to volunteer for a shift at the Basically Babies warehouse. Ages 13
to 17 can volunteer with a guardian. Come and join us and see all that goes
into the layettes.
You may also visit us at the Park96 Spring
Craft Fair on May 9 and 10. Bring your Basically Babies donations, pull a
sucker for a prize, learn about the impact Parkland Cares has had over the
years, and check out all the other amazing vendors.
On June 13, Jamie Newton and Associates of
RE/MAX First will be supporting Parkland Cares during the Community Parade of
Garage Sales. Participants and neighbours will have the opportunity to give
back to the community by sending an e-donation from the proceeds of their sale
to Parkland Cares. All donations will then be matched by Jamie Newton and
