Parkland Cares is a community-based
organization of families and neighbours committed

to helping others.

“The beautiful Spring came, and
when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also.”
 – Harriet Ann Jacobs

Happy Birthday Bags are Here Again! With
spring comes our very favourite initiative, supplying Birthday Bags for the
Calgary Food Bank. We will be collecting items from April 1 to 24 at Park 96.
Contact us if you are interested in participating. There will be limited volunteer
spots for the assembly day, Sunday, April 26 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Park96.
The Birthday Bag kits are made available for children who might not otherwise
enjoy the luxury of a birthday party.

Items We Will Be Collecting:

New or excellent condition medium/large
gift bags, microwave popcorn, boxed cake mix, tub icing, balloons, candles, new
or excellent condition children’s gifts, books, small toys, games, art and
school supplies (ages 3 to 5, 6 to 8, and 9 to 12). Thank you for your ongoing
support.

Upcoming Initiatives:

In May we are proud to be supporting
Basically Babies once again. From May 1 to 31, you can drop off donations of
clean, good quality, gently used or new baby clothing (Sized 0 to 24 months)
and small baby supplies or items. This Calgary charity helps families with
newborns in extreme need. They provide these families with a beautiful
first-year layette. Donation Boxes will be placed at Park96.

Parkland Cares will have a table at the
fabulous Spring Craft Fair and will be collecting items there as well. May 9
and 10 at Park96.

For additional information about Basically
Babies, we invite you to visit their website.

On Tuesday May 12 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm you
will be able to volunteer for a shift at the Basically Babies warehouse. Come
and join us and see all that goes into the layettes.

We are excited to continue to come
together, make friends, and build relationships with our neighbours while
making a difference in the lives of our neighbours and Calgarians. Let us know
if you want to help with any of our initiatives.
