Hello Glenbrook!

I can’t believe October is here. Admittedly, I am looking
forward to the change to cooler weather, as well as the fall colours. As we
head into the new season, our board remains focused on maintaining our
facilities, supporting community programs and events, and planning for the
future.

With Halloween around the corner, it is a good opportunity
to review a few safety reminders for our youngest trick-or-treaters:

·
Wear bright or reflective clothing, so children
are visible to drivers after dark

·
Choose costumes that fit properly, and avoid
masks that limit vision

·
Carry a flashlight or glow sticks when walking
through the neighbourhood

·
Use sidewalks whenever possible, and cross
streets only at designated crossings

·
Travel in groups or with a trusted adult

·
Remind children never to enter homes, and to
stay in familiar areas

A little preparation can help ensure everyone enjoys a safe
and fun Halloween evening.

Coming up in November is our annual Makers Market, which
will take place on Saturday, November 21 this year. Find something for everyone
on your list in the heart of your own community and meet the makers of the
neighbourhood, including returning favourites and new vendors. We will be
accepting donations for the Veterans Association Food Bank as coordinated by
the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #289. We look forward to seeing you there!

Finally, I’d like to wish all of our residents a happy Thanksgiving,
and I hope you are able to get together with friends and family for the
holiday.

Take care,

Kim
