Springbank Hill Community Cleanup

Spring Cleaning? We’re Here to Help!

For anyone in the midst of spring cleaning
we have good news – our community cleanup is returning and it’s bigger than
last year. Mark your calendars for June 13 – here are the details!

Join Us for a Community Cleanup!

Dispose of unusable or broken household
items easily and in the right way.  Each year, The City partners with community
organizations and volunteers to host community cleanups helping residents
dispose of items that don’t fit in the black cart, supporting a cleaner, safer
city.

Why Participate?

Community cleanups bring residents
together, build pride, and make it easier to dispose of unusable or broken
household items the right way.

Who Can Attend?

All Calgarians are welcome at any community
cleanup, regardless of where they live. If you can’t make the event in your own
neighbourhood, you can drop off items at another cleanup location. These events
are for residential use only; we do not accept commercial or contractor waste.

When Do They Happen?

The 2026 community cleanups run city-wide
from April 25 through September 27, with events scheduled on weekends.

The Springbank Hill/Signal Hill/Discovery
Ridge Community Cleanup is:

·
Date: Saturday, June 13

·
Time: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm

·
Location: Westside King’s
Church parking lot – 3939 69 Street SW

Full event details at springbankhill.org.

Visit calgary.ca/cleanups for City accepted
and non-accepted items.

Thanks to everyone who joined last year for
our cleanup, because of how well attended it was the City is doubling the
number of trucks on site to allow for a quicker drop off of items. If you’d
like to volunteer to help us run this event, please contact [email protected].

Calgary Waste Management Updates

As of April 21, weekly green cart
collection has started back up. If you have too much compost and it can’t fit
in your bin there are a couple options available.

Option 1: Put extra yard waste into a paper
waste bag and roll the top closed to prevent spills. Place the bag half a meter
(two feet) away from your green cart. Lastly, ensure the bag isn’t too heavy
for ease of collection.

Option 2: From April 10 until May 31 extra
yard waste can be dropped off free of charge at any Eco Centre. The closest
location to Springbank Hill is the Spy Hill location.
