Mid-Sun Social Seniors’ Card Group
Mid-Sun Seniors’ Group continues to be an
active part of this community. Each month our numbers increase as seniors join
us to engage in cards and games while socializing with others. In addition,
opportunities are offered to join varied activities. Monthly Pub Nites invite
seniors to share a meal and conversation with local seniors. Bingo is a
much-anticipated evening event. Our last Bingo of the season was held in May
with plans to resume in September. In April, a Pegasus Performance Murder
Mystery Dinner delighted an engaged audience. Congratulations to super sleuth
Sandra who gathered clues to solve a murder and claim a prize. Our organizing
committee continues to work diligently to plan upcoming activities that will
entice you to participate. Stay tuned!
June 1 to 7 is Seniors’ Week in Calgary.
The 40th Anniversary theme is 40 Years of Connection, Contribution, and
Community. This is a time to recognize and celebrate the contributions that
seniors have made to growing, supporting, and shaping family and community.
Please watch the Mid-Sun Community Association website for details on the
Seniors’ Week activities offered at MSCC.
Members of Mid-Sun Seniors’ Group continue
to support the Calgary community by generously contributing to local needs.
Donations to the Calgary Veteran’s Food Bank from January through March 31 were
strong, totalling 198 items weighing 381 lbs and a cash amount. AARCS animal
rescue received 87 pet supply items. Thank you to card group members!

Daily varied free activities for seniors
55+. Contact the Mid-Sun Community Centre or check the website midsun.org for
information. Registration is required for each event. The highlight of the week
is always the no-charge lunch on Thursday, June 4.
Pub Nite
Tuesday, June 16, 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
Location to be determined. Each diner is
responsible for their own bill, GST, tip, and transportation. Contact
