Kool-Aid
and Jell-O Popsicles
This
recipe is a nostalgic nod to the 1980s, when latchkey kids survived on TV
dinners, sugar cereal and Hostess twinkies. A time when the grocery freezers
lacked our modern-day rainbow of popsicle varieties. For sure, there was
nothing labelled “made with real (insert fruit of choice).” With the wobbly
wonder of the Jell-O, these popsicles are almost soft enough to bite.
Ingredients:
·
One Kool-Aid package
·
One 3 oz package of your
favourite Jell-O
·
2 cups boiling water
·
2 cups cold water
·
Popsicle Molds
Instructions:
1.
Dissolve
the Jell-O, Kool-Aid and sugar in the boiling water.
2.
Add
the cold water. Mix.
3.
Pour
into popsicle molds and freeze for at least 6 hours, overnight is best.
For
a healthier version, blend in some fresh seasonal fruit.
